Congratulations to the following students for winning Wednesday's contests: Justin Robinson for his guess of 236 Starbursts. There were 232! So close! Janiyah Campbell, Kaitlynn Morales, and Lauren Morris won the trivia contest Wednesday with their answer that black bears can run 35 miles per hour. Thursday, Zayda Cummings guessed 182 Jolly Ranchers and there were 183! Amazing! Aja Sharpe, April Griller, and Kahlyn Stinson are our winners for guessing that the tent was invented in 1856! Stay Tuned Monday for the winners of today's contests AND the winners of the raffle contest and photo contest! -Congratulations to the following students who won Tuesday's contests at the Book Fair! The trivia question was How many teeth does a mosquito have? The answer is 47! The winners are Kami Pate, Jayla Woodford, and Emma Sladden! There were 2,270 skittles in the jar! Congratulations to Messiah Tucker with his guess of 2,150! Stop by the Book Fair to claim your prizes! You still have Thursday and Friday with more trivia questions and guess the candy! Also, don't forget to submit your photos from the photo booth to enter that contest! Thanks for your support of the NWSA Book Fair! -The Scholastic Book Fair is here! There are lots of great, NEW books for everyone! Take off on an adventure, make new friends, laugh your head off! Visit the Book Fair in the Media Center through this Friday, March 17th.Check out our daily contests including a daily trivia question and guess the number of candy in a jar contests, our photo booth contest when you pose with our camping set and share on social media with #NWSAreads, as well as our Happy Camper Raffle where you earn a raffle ticket for every $7 you spend! At the book fair, we’re also collecting loose change for the All for Books program. The money we collect will be used to purchase books for our school. Visit our Book Fair today and join in the fun to help others. -The Women's Chamber Choir is performing in the Musical Showcase hosted by Charlotte Concerts on March 20th! The performance features multiple musical ensembles from Schools in CMS and will be a fabulous night of performances! The Showcase is held at the Belk theater and Tickets are $10 on carolinatix.com! -Please join us for the 15th Annual Michael A. Washington Piano Benefit Concert on Sunday, March 26th at 3pm at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. This year’s concert will feature our advanced piano class as well as three of our distinguished alumni. The concert is a free event, but donations of any size will be collected at the church to support the piano department’s ongoing mission to provide students with quality instruments. We hope to see you at the concert! -Come to the Senior Showcase dance concert March 24th and 25th at 7:00 pm in the Black Box. This concert is showcasing student choreography by our high school senior dance majors. Please arrange to have your ride at school by 8:00 pm.
